Job Description

Job Summary:

The post holder will always work within their scope of practice, prioritizing the health, well-being, and safety of patients while assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating their care needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and offer advice and emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Assess and identify patients’ needs, implement and monitor their medical plans and treatments.
  • Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and other healthcare specialists in various settings.
  • Perform systematic patient assessments, re-assessments, and collect relevant health data.
  • Analyze assessment findings to determine actual and potential nursing diagnoses, problems, and issues.
  • Define predicted and expected outcomes of the patient’s planned care.
  • Create and evaluate patient care plans with the interprofessional team, in collaboration with patients and their bystanders.
  • Record vital signs, recognize abnormalities, and take appropriate actions, including escalation when needed.
  • Maintain and update technical and clinical skills relevant to nursing practice.
  • Promote patients’ health and ensure a safe environment.
  • Interpret and understand various diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
  • Perform essential life support measures in line with regulatory requirements and scope of practice, including but not limited to Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP).
  • Prepare patients for medical examinations and treatments.
  • Administer medications and monitor for any side effects or adverse reactions.
  • Administer treatments such as IV fluids or blood products and monitor for any reactions.
  • Provide wound care management.
  • Assist in both invasive and non-invasive medical procedures as required.
  • Facilitate safe patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.

Qualifications:

  • Valid license to practice as a registered nurse under the relevant health authority, meeting all qualification and experience requirements.
  • Maintain professional licensure and fulfill re-licensure requirements.
  • Hold a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
  • Willingness to work across departments when necessary.
  • Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written).
