Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neonatology Consultant to join our specialized neonatal care team in Al Ain under SEHA. The role involves providing advanced medical care to critically ill and premature newborns, leading the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert clinical care for critically ill, premature, and high-risk newborns in the NICU.
- Lead and supervise neonatal resuscitation during deliveries and emergency situations.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and ensure continuous monitoring of patient progress.
- Perform specialized procedures and interventions required in neonatal intensive care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including obstetricians, pediatricians, nurses, and allied health professionals, to deliver comprehensive care.
- Counsel and educate parents/families on the condition, treatment plan, and care of newborns.
- Participate in neonatal transport services as required.
- Ensure compliance with SEHA and DOH clinical guidelines, protocols, and patient safety standards.
- Contribute to clinical teaching, training, and mentoring of junior doctors, nurses, and medical students.
- Engage in research, audits, and quality improvement initiatives to advance neonatal care services.
Qualifications:
- Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) with board certification in Pediatrics.
- Subspecialty certification/fellowship in Neonatology from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 5 years post-fellowship experience in Neonatology, preferably in a tertiary-level NICU.
- Valid DOH (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi) License or eligibility.
- Experience working in JCI-accredited hospitals is preferred.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Currently based in the UAE or willing to relocate to Al Ain.
