Job Description

Capital Health is seeking a Clinical Academic Supervisor to lead and coordinate clinical education, training, orientation, and academic activities across SRH, HSMC, and HHC. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, the role ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards while promoting evidence-based practice and high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Education & Training

  • Coordinate and ensure clinical education programs comply with DOH/HAAD, JCI, Magnet®, CARF, ANCC, and American Heart Association standards.
  • Initiate, supervise, and evaluate clinical skills development and preceptorship programs.
  • Develop and support evidence-based education plans aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct clinical staff needs assessments and oversee ongoing nursing education programs.
  • Manage CE credit applications and maintain approved CE provider status.
  • Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical departments to support education and training activities.

Orientation

  • Design, implement, and update clinical orientation programs for new joiners in collaboration with HODs.
  • Ensure timely and effective delivery of orientation programs.

External Trainees (APS-Approved Practice Setting)

  • Oversee and coordinate the educational progress of external trainees.
  • Collaborate with affiliated academic institutions on clinical curriculum and practicum.
  • Ensure educational agreements, documentation, evaluations, and audit readiness.
  • Liaise with clinical instructors and provide feedback on trainee performance.

Departmental & External Collaboration

  • Coordinate with Biomedical and other departments on equipment training, in-services, and competencies.
  • Support policy, procedure, and competency development with HODs.
  • Facilitate staff participation in external conferences and professional development activities.
  • Participate in organizing rehabilitation-focused educational events.

Research, Informatics & Quality

  • Support clinical research, publication, and evidence-based practice.
  • Assist the Director of Nursing with education-related data collection and reporting (DOH, Magnet®, JCI, NDNQI).
  • Oversee digitalization and standardization of education-related clinical documentation.
  • Coordinate with IT to support system usability, workflow efficiency, and reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in the best interest of Capital Health.

Qualifications & Experience 🎓

  • Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, including 1 year in nursing education.
  • Rehabilitation and private hospital experience required.
  • UAE healthcare experience with DOH/HAAD licensing.
  • Experience with JCI, CARF, Magnet®, and ANCC accreditation.
  • Recent leadership and management experience required.
