Job Description

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of Science (Physics) to join our team in September 2026. For suitably qualified candidates, there may be opportunities for middle leadership roles in curriculum, Head of Year, ECA Coordination, or Head of Careers. Opened in 2014, GEMS FirstPoint School is a Premium British Curriculum school located in the heart of The Villa community, Dubai. The school currently provides exceptional education to around 2,000 students from Nursery (age 2) to Year 13, with exciting plans for future expansion.

FPS is proud to be an inclusive, values-driven school, with students representing over 90 nationalities. Skills

Successful candidates will:

  • Have experience teaching Physics at A Level
  • Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons aligned with the British curriculum
  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge in Physics and adapt teaching to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Plan, prepare, and assess effectively, maintaining accurate records of student progress
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes innovation, curiosity, and a love of learning
  • Use technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning
  • Contribute to co-curricular and extra-curricular programmes, supporting whole-school initiatives and events
  • Uphold GEMS policies, procedures, and core values at all times
  • Communicate regularly with parents, colleagues, and external stakeholders to support student development
  • Engage in continuous professional development and performance management

Candidate Profile

Willingness to contribute to wider school life and a collaborative professional learning culture

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics or a related Science subject

Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)

Strong classroom practice with a proven ability to inspire and motivate students in Physics

Commitment to inclusive education and personalised learning
