
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Health Services & First Aid
- Provide immediate first aid and nursing care to students and staff when required.
- Assess students’ health complaints and administer appropriate treatment or referrals.
- Respond to medical emergencies and activate emergency protocols as necessary.
- Health Records & Documentation
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date health records for all students and staff.
- Monitor chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies) and implement care plans.
- Ensure compliance with DHA requirements regarding immunization records and reporting.
- Medication Management
- Administer prescription and over-the-counter medications in accordance with school and DHA policies.
- Securely store and manage medications in the school clinic.
- Monitor expiry dates and stock levels of all medical supplies.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure the clinic is operating according to DHA/MOH guidelines and inspection standards.
- Assist in preparing and participating in MOH/DHA audits and school health inspections.
- Follow infection control and COVID-19 safety protocols as per UAE regulations.
- Health Promotion & Preventive Care
- Educate students and staff on health, hygiene, and wellness topics.
- Participate in school health campaigns, workshops, and awareness activities.
- Monitor communicable diseases and report outbreaks to authorities as required.
- Liaison & Communication
- Communicate effectively with parents about student health issues.
- Coordinate with external health services and regulatory bodies as needed.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, counsellors, and leadership teams to support student welfare.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid DHA Registered Nurse License (mandatory)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (preferably pediatric/school nursing)
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Strong organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills
