JESS Arabian Ranches is seeking a well – qualified lifeguard to start in August 2025. 

The successful candidate will have a recognised lifeguard qualification and experience in UAE of a minimum 2 years at any aquatic facility related to lifeguard operations. School experiences desirable. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience whilst being part of an accomplished PE department. 

 The position involves the following roles and responsibilities: 

• Ensure the safety of students during swimming lessons, squad training, ECAs and outside hire swimming sessions in the pool
• Maintain a safe and secure environment through observation and provision of guidance and emergency assistance when required.
• Ensure pool checks are completed and recorded before and after the lessons where applicable and liaising with maintenance teams where corrective action needs to be made.
• Carry out safety/operational equipment and resource checks where requested and report findings.
• Manoeuvre, set-up and dismantle equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with training and instruction received.
• Report any concerns about any areas of operation to the relevant line manager.
• Maintain high levels of cleanliness in and around the designated areas
• Carry out pool tests.
• Attend mandatory monthly training sessions to maintain knowledge, fitness and skills required to carry out your duties.
• Work within the Health & Safety, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health and Risk Assessment guidelines
• Support teachers and coaches with administrative tasks and offering excellent customer service support at all times.
• Maintain excellent levels of fitness as required for lifesaving responsibilities.
• Ensure that students, staff, outside hire adhere to the pool rules and regulations.
• Support swimming lessons (if certified) if required.
• Support the PE department with day to day tasks and whole school events when not required at poolside.
• Any other duties as may reasonably be requested
