Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Veterinary Surgeon located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Veterinary Surgeon will be responsible for conducting veterinary surgeries, providing medical care to pets, performing laboratory diagnostics, and ensuring the overall well-being of the animals. Daily tasks include diagnosing health issues, developing treatment plans, and educating pet owners on proper pet care and preventive health measures.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat complex medical conditions within the area of specialization.
- Perform advanced procedures and surgeries beyond the scope of general veterinary practice.
- Collaborate with general veterinarians by offering consultations and second opinions.
- Interpret specialized diagnostic tests.
- Design and implement treatment plans for chronic, acute, or rare conditions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with UAE veterinary regulations.
- Educate and mentor veterinary staff, interns, and support personnel.
- Ensure animal welfare standards are upheld according to Dubai Municipality and MOCCAE guidelines.
Requirements for the Role
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
- Board certification or advanced qualification in a veterinary specialty (e.g., ACVS, ACVIM, ECVIM, etc.) is a plus.
- Valid veterinary license to practice in Dubai (UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment license).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in surgeries.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills in a referral or specialty hospital setting.
- Excellent communication skills for client interactions and inter-professional collaboration.
- Cultural sensitivity and adaptability, given Dubai’s multicultural population.
- Fluent in English (Arabic or other languages is a plus).
