Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled General Practitioner with a specialized interest or training in Gastroenterology to join our prestigious facility in Dubai. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Consultant Gastroenterologists to provide high-quality outpatient and inpatient care. The role focuses on the assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients presenting with gastrointestinal symptoms, ensuring adherence to the hospital’s international standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough clinical assessments and physical examinations of patients presenting with gastrointestinal complaints (e.g., GERD, IBS, dyspepsia, liver abnormalities).

Manage outpatient clinics, providing follow-up care for chronic GI conditions.

Assist Consultant Gastroenterologists in the inpatient ward rounds and manage stable inpatients with GI issues.

Perform bedside procedures as per DHA scope of practice for a GP (e.g., paracentesis, nasogastric tube insertion).

Interpret diagnostic data including laboratory results, abdominal imaging, and preliminary endoscopy findings (under supervision).

Provide patient education regarding prevention, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence.

Ensure accurate and timely medical documentation in the EMR system.

Adhere strictly to DHA regulations, JCI standards, and hospital infection control protocols.

Requirements

Education: MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by the DHA.

License: Valid Dubai Health Authority (DHA) License or Eligibility Letter as a General Practitioner is mandatory.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, or completion of a recognized training/rotation in Gastroenterology within a hospital setting.

Skills:

Strong clinical acumen in managing acute and chronic GI conditions.

Excellent communication skills in English 

Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
